CHOOSE A STYLE YOU LOVE. Everybody has a style they like or are looking for, even if you can’t name or put your finger on it. Make sure to take a good look through the photographer’s portfolio to see whether their style is consistent & is what you are looking for. Ex., some photographers may be light & airy or dark & moody while I offer true to color, rich, & bright imagery.

CHECK THEIR PORTFOLIO & LOOK FOR CONSISTENCY. Research by reading any reviews on Google &/or testimonials on their website. This will give you an idea of the set of skills that the photographer has, work they have previously done, & their client’s experience. The wording & design of their website will also give you a glimpse about the photographer’s personality.

CONSIDER HOW MUCH YOU ARE WILLING TO INVEST. If you want someone to just snap some photos – you can find that easily & cheap. Quality photography is not cheap but very much worth the investment. These tangible memories outlast our own abilities of remembering long-term; like a postcard back in time and can be passed down to future generations.

CHOOSE A PHOTOGRAPHER WHO IS COMMITTED TO YOU. A photo session is more than just showing up & having photos taken. Choose a photographer who is involved beyond just taking a retainer, shooting the session & delivering your images. Your overall experience will be enhanced if you choose someone who works with you on each step, from initial consultation to choosing a session date, helping you pick out outfits/wardrobe, choosing the best location, & is passionate about serving YOU.
